by JOHARDY IBRAHIM

KUALA LUMPUR 2 Mar - Liverpool FC has reported record-breaking annual revenue exceeding £700 million for the financial year ending 31 May 2025, while maintaining its position as the highest-placed Premier League club in the Deloitte Football Money League. The season also saw the club secure its 20th league title.

According to the club’s annual financial accounts, overall revenue rose by £89 million to £703 million. Key revenue highlights include:

  • Media revenue increased by £60 million to £264 million, driven by the men’s team reaching the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, compared with the Europa League quarter-finals in the previous season.

  • Matchday revenue rose by £14 million to £116 million, supported by the full operation of the new Anfield Road Stand and on-field success.

  • Commercial revenue grew £15 million to £323 million, fueled by partnerships, retail, and non-matchday events, including Anfield concerts featuring Taylor Swift and P!NK.

Despite strong revenue growth, administrative costs rose sharply by £57 million to £657 million, with staff costs up £42 million to £428 million.

Other cost categories have also seen double-digit increases in recent years, affecting marginal returns from core operations such as matchday activities.

Off the pitch, Liverpool maintained its digital dominance with 1.7 billion social media fan engagements during the reporting period.

Its official website recorded 87 million visits, while social media followings exceeded 200 million across platforms, including 50 million on Facebook, 47 million on Instagram, and 25 million on TikTok.

In community initiatives, the LFC Foundation supported over 145,000 individuals, delivering healthcare savings of more than £48 million and contributing £7 million to the local economy.

Through its Red Neighbours programme, LFC provided over £500,000 worth of essential food hampers, stadium tours, matchday experiences, and 1,000 free meals weekly.
